Question ref. exercise/diet/cycle

I've been back in the gym regularly for almost three weeks now and have also been tracking my calories on Spark People.  I've done this before but not to this level as I've been REALLY good about hitting the gym 6 days a week and have been doing strenth training 3xs/weed (2xs with a personal trainer and once on my own).  And it's going really well, FYI! lol

During this time I've noticed some light "breakthrough bleeding" I guess I would say.  It's not much at all but is still annoying.  Did any of you ladies experience this when you upped your exercise routine and changed your diet?  If yes, how long did it take to re-regulate?

I should probably also mention that I'm on Nuvaring.  I'm just curious if this is normal or if I should be concerned?

Re: Question ref. exercise/diet/cycle

  • Anytime you are concerned, it never hurts to call your OBGYN and talk to the nurse.
  • It's not exactly the same, but I'm on the paraguard and I almost always have breakthrough bleeding after really long runs. My OB said that it was common because it's just the lining pulling away from the activity level increase, but if you're concerned then I would call yours to check.

  • I think what I'm going to do is wait until after this next period.  If I have breakthrough when that is over I will definitely call.  It's not enough to be super concerned at this point and since it did start at the same time as all this exercise I'm pretty sure that's what is causing it. I just wanted to see if others had experienced similar ;-)

    Thanks!
