Cost of adding an exterior door where there isnt one currently?
I'm sure the pricing is regional, but I'm curious about a rough estimate since I have NO CLUE!
Also, anything I need to know or take into consideration?
As always, TIA.

Re: Cost of adding an exterior door where there isnt one currently?
First floor. Old house with clapboard siding. Standard size door - not double doors. Havent really looked into door types yet, so i am not sure if we would do steel, fiberglass, etc. At this point, I was curious what the cost of the cutting out of the wall would be.
For a door, we do want similar to a French door with glass panels to let the light in.
thank you!
Keep in mind that K&P's window to door conversion is much simpler than yours. She already has an opening which means the load of that exterior wall has already been distributed via the existing header over the window. A brand new opening will be more work with installing the appropriate size header, jack and king studs to support the wall.
You might be required to have your house lead tested before you can do this kind of work. If your house was built before 1978, EPA regulations now require a certified lead test be done before a contractor can disturb what could possibly be lead paint.
