Replanting & Trimming Barerooted Roses

I made the mistake of buy 4 bare rooted knockout roses from an online site a few weeks back, I planted them only have to have the dog go through and pull them all back out. Instead of constantly spending my days replanting them, I set all 4 in a bucket of water and purchased already rooted and sprouting ones. I want to try and give them a chance and plant them in these giant ceramic outdoor vases I have, but because she did chew some of the ends they probably need pruned. Since they are already very small, how would I go about doing this without completely killing them? Or should I just plant them and let them go?

Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and I don't live to be. But, before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean. -Bob Marley
