Recent cooking fails, disappointments, etc
I tried the cover recipe from this month's Food & Wine, the Thai Chicken (was going to make it into tacos).
The marinade smelled and tasted awful. I promptly tossed it and we went to Chick-fil-A.
Re: Recent cooking fails, disappointments, etc
Mmmm... Chick-Fil-A....
I made a shrimp and barley risotto a few weeks ago that was nearly inedible. We gave up on it and made nachos.
I made a slowcooker honey sesame chicken type thing and it was just way too soy sauce-heavy. I mean, we ate it, but I would just really cut down on it next time.
I also thought I might finally get DS to eat eggs last night (they are literally the one and only food he has shunned since the very beginning of eating solids). When he called the frittata I made "egg pizza" I thought for sure he'd try it. Nope, just picked all the egg off the potatoes, etc. and left a big pile of it on his plate. :P
L has gutted every taco, quesadilla, and sandwich I have ever made her. She leaves the bread and tortilla on the plate (when I'm lucky... otherwise she flips it onto the floor).
Sometimes I think they gave me the wrong baby.
I tried to use up leftover ricotta for an italian cookie recipe. everything seemed ok, I baked it and it spread more than the image, and sticky, so I decided to turn it into a whoopie pie.
After the fact, I realized I DOUBLED the amount of sugar that I was supposed to add. it was way overly sweet when I bit into it.
Hah. Z would eat an entire loaf of bread and package of tortillas, if you let him.
I went to make a slow cooker chicken dish a few months ago. The outlet somehow got tripped and it didn't cook.
Tristan is 3 and refuses and form of potato. No matter HOW I try to hide it and I try often.
SO I understand.
I have done that. Only I turned it on and left and it was never plugged in. GO ME!

Umm, I just did this last week with a roast.
Ugh...thank you. MY DH made what I am assuming is the same recipe last week. He is a terrible cook, but I know there was no way he could have messed this up. We didn't even eat it, which we NEVER do. I feel less crazy now...
