So... The Guest Bedroom / Home Office Makeover is underway. For those who dont remember, I recently bought my home and this was one room I have relatively no furniture for. So here is the before pic.
I am not a fan of the blue wall in there. The whole room will be repainted. I found this photo and fell in love with the concept. Its warm and cozy, but also functional as both office and guest bedroom.
I decided I want to a grey and yellow color scheme and I have to think about how to get this room done in a fairly economical way. . . Here are my concepts..
The white cabinets are Ikea, but I found one even cheaper but its only available in a beech wood finish, so i'll need to paint them ($300 for the pair). And the desk, you ladies gave me some great ideas and I went with the mission style desk. ($180). I found a better (and slightly cheaper) sofabed from American Signature I bought that had great grey pillows so i only ordered the 1 yellow one.
Anyway, I just wanted to show you ladies what Im working on and I cant wait to show you completed photos soon!

I love it! (the prints especially... of course
)
What color are you painting the walls?
LOVE your concept....I was actually at IKEA tonight and was eyeing that exact same cabinet.
Terrible *blonde* newbie question.....How did you make your "concept" board? did you just copy pictures and put it in to a blank document? or do you use a website/software?
I painted them a cheery (but not overly so) yellow. I will PIP by the end of the week when I should have some of the pieces in place.
Im not very good at the concept board thing either. I usually just copy the pics into Microsoft paint and move stuff around.
