This morning I did my weekly long run since DS is at daycare and I didn't want to spend 3+ hours on a "family day" doing it tomorrow. DH has been a little touchy about that lately. Anyway...
I ran 21.05 miles all by my lonesome this morning/afternoon! That's a personal best for distance-in-training for me, not to mention the fact that I didn't have ANYone out there with me.
All week I've been plotting my route so I didn't have any out-and-back (my least favorite) or have to double back past my house once I was done. I packed up my fuel belt and stuff last night, and made my final wardrobe choices this morning. The weather ROCKED--45* and sunny at the start, breezy the whole way, about 60* by the time I finished.
And I enjoyed myself the whole time. Amazing.
So now our weekend is clear (though we'll still go to our group's long run, DH won't be running nearly as long as I would have) and I have a major accomplishment to toot about. It's very encouraging to know that my race in a few weeks is "only" 5.2 miles longer than what I ran today. Wooooot!
taratru: I ran for 3hr15min, so if you are planning on 3:20, you'll be close to 22-23 miles. I took liberal walk breaks. ![]()
Re: Long run DONE and a big AW :D (psst taratru)
I definitely had some "nervous tummy" this morning.

That is AWESOME!
We ended up at 3:19 with tons of walking for water and finished just over 20. Purposefully went pretty slow. I'm hurrrting now, though!
