H and I go to a lot of concerts, and I've saved dozens of setlists from my favorite band. I'd like to do something fun with them - but I cannot find inspiration!
They're not very pretty (crinkled white paper with black arial bold font, some have tape, others are signed), and many are identical (when we saw them in different cities on the same tour). Right now I have a few in cheapie Certificate Frames, with a large shadow box with ticket stubs, guitar picks, and a poster. But it looks college-y.
We also have about 30 show posters to frame, from different bands, cities, venues. I tried to keep up with framing, but it's expensive. They're all oddly and differently sized, so they have to be custom framed. I'd love ideas for that, too.
TIA!
Re: Decorating with concert setlists?
I've got a lot from nada surf. (most people don't know or remember them!)
I have some posters (theirs and other bands) framed and in our LR, bathroom, powder room, and DR. I think it's so "us" and I love that it shows our personality. But we have way too many others and not enough wallspace. H and I might get into a knockdown drag out to see which are framed first and get premium wallspace!

I agree that it shows your personality and homes are always nicer when they reflect the people who live there. Look forward to seeing the final product!
(Oh yeah, I must be really, really old because I have no clue who Nada Surf are! Off to google now.....)

Sounds like a great idea. DH and I have a ton of concert posters too. We used floating frames for them since they're different sizes. They're framed but not hung up yet. (Ugh.)
I've seen that type of frame at CB2, Target, and Michael's. I think we used a Michael's coupon to get ours.
I love the floating frame idea...cheap, and don't "frame" it, really.
Would it be nerdy to have the setlists going up the stairway like people have their kids' school pictures? Like a progression through the albums!
We found Hobby Lobby to be a lot more affordable for frames, but they're still $100 each for what we wanted. Ouch.

I think it's awesome! We actually have a concert poster from our wedding (we had a real band play and my brother had a friend of his draw us a concert poster). We have a couple signed posters in the basement & a few albums framed, too.
I am assuming the set lists are on 8 1/2 x 11 paper... could you get frames at homegoods or some pretty basic frames & just get custom mats?
for the posters, would you be open to just putting them on canvases? they are often on sale and no matter what size your poster is, just get the one closest in its size, a little larger and spray paint it (i would pull out a complimentary color from the poster, but painting it in black would work, too). then just mod podge the poster to the canvas. you could get long floating shelves and just have them leaning on them and scatter amongst them the other framed items you mentioned for a great layered effect.
Thanks - love this idea! Might have to try with one of H's and see how it looks, before I ruin one that I love.

Don't forget that frames are on sale (usually 50% off) at Hobby Lobby--I think it's an every other week cycle for premade frames with glass/backing vs. open backs or something like that... Still pricy, but less so. Also, could you make a collage with the set lists?
I think we spent less than $100 total on frames. Definitely worth looking into, even if you have your heart on something else in the future.
I guess I'll have to hope I get inspired at the store. I used 50% off for the custom framing, which were still pretty pricey.
I don't have room for a collage except in our entryway (which we never see), or up one of two stairways. H isn't excited about either.
