Half may be cancelled tomorrow but no refunds

Wow, they just posted on their website that if the event is cancelled they will not give refunds or transfers.   That is kind of sucky

That sucks... but I think it's pretty par for the course.

A tri I did last year got moved from a very desirable location to a very undesirable location... no refunds.  And an OWS offered 2.5k and 5k on Sat, and 10k on Sun.  A hurricane (Irene) was coming through, and they offered the 10k'ers the choice of going off with the shorter race on Sat or DNS'ing, there would be no Sunday race.  Again, no refunds.  There were people who were pissed because they couldn't do Sat., but I guess it's a risk we take.

Yep, I hate to say, but it's pretty standard. Sometimes you can transfer your entry to another race, but most of the time you can't. Keep in mind that the race organizers cannot control the weather. They would rather cancel the race than risk someone getting hurt or killed because of severe weather.

I hope the weather doesn't get too bad! It stinks, but I'm sure the race has already paid the majority of costs and they simply don't have the cash left to give refunds. Bad weather is unfortunate, but they also have to make safety their 1st concern. I really hope it works out, and you get to race.

I know the why, but its still sucky.   If they do cancle I will be irked because I do not want to drive all the way there, just to turn around and drive all the way back.

Maybe they'll offer you a free entry to next year's race. 

I had a half get cancelled last August due to Hurricane Irene and that's what they did, everyone who was registered gets in free for this coming year's race.
