Woot! Volunteering at local DNC headquarters Tues.

as part of the the lawyer voter protection program, to answer calls and be on call to go to polling places where there are problems.

Yay!

Re: Woot! Volunteering at local DNC headquarters Tues.

  • That's great that you are doing this!
  • Awesome!  Does that make you in the "boiler room"?  My husband and I are volunteering for the same thing, but we'll be at the polling site, and they've given us a number to call in when we run into issues.  That must be what you'll be on the other end of!

Good for you for helping out!

  • That's awesome! I wanted to do that so badly but I have court on Tuesday. Sad

    Yup, I think it does!

I think it's great that there are SO many people volunteering and coming out to vote in this election.  It would have been awesome to have the same enthusiasm in 2000 and 2004.

  • Very cool! I so wish that I could volunteer, but they require an all day commitment and I have to be at work around 3.

That bites! They have two shifts here- 6:30am-1pm, 1pm-7.

    I'm doing the asscrack-of-dawn shift.

  • I would totally do the asscrack of dawn shift! They honestly require you to be there from 6:30 am until 9 pm. Insanity! I mean, really, WHO can do this?

That really is a shame and damaging to the overall effort- most lawyers can't take an entire day off! If it's slow at my firm and everyone else is volunteering, I probably will too but I don't want to be counted on the whole day, you know?
