Hello Ladies (and gentlemen?)
I've hung out on D&R and WC for a while now, but thought I would love to stop by Gardening and Landscaping and check things out... I live in Boston's South End neighborhood with my partner. We have a small condo in a beautiful, turn of the century brownstone. We also have a garden space, which is a luxury for this neighborhood. I love spending time in my garden, but tend to learn through trial and error (and there have been many errors over the past six years...)
I'm very excited for this season, as I just found out the my garden has been selected for the South End garden tour in June. (Nothing like the promise of several hundred people traipsing through your garden to motivate you to make sure it's in good shape!)
Our garden is primarily a shade garden, and I'm sure I'm going to have questions over the next few weeks as I go into panic mode in preparing for the tour. (Not until June, but that's not that far away!)
I look forward "meeting" you.
Here are a few photos of my garden from last year...

Re: Intro. New to board...
Love the gardens! I love what you have done with the brick!
I can't offer advice since I come here to get advice but just wanted to say I am sure they will come out awesome!
Welcome Ginger!
I love what you have done back there. The patio looks so calm and inviting. I'm guessing by now a lot of that stuff has filled in more since last year but I'd probably still add a selection of annuals back there if you can. From experience I know garden tours around here = lots of pretty annuals in containers or planted in the ground to get the people ohing and ahing.
Good idea. I usually plant impatiens, simply because they do well in my shade, but I'm always looking for new ideas for fun shade loving plants. : )
