Ndr: graduation outfit

We are attending an outdoor high school graduation next month. Any suggestions are what to wear? Last time I wore a sundress but was a little uncomfortable sitting on bleachers.

Re: Ndr: graduation outfit

  • What about a pair of dressier trouser shorts, a nice sleeveless blouse, and a lightweight cardigan in case it's cool? I think for a HS grad, you could afford to be a little more casual than a college or grad school graduation.

This is the line I am thinking. It's been a few years since we went to this particular schools graduation. Its where Dh went to school so we always run into people. So I want to look ok.

  • You are beautiful. You will look ok no matter what you wear!
  • I think that either lightweight dress pants/capris/dressy shorts with a blouse and a sweater is fine.  Also, I'd wear flat shoes, but that is just because I have a fear of tripping and falling while climbing up bleachers!
  • Ditto pp.

I wouldn't go anymore dressy than casual church clothes.

Graduations are usually hot stuffy and uncomfortable anyways. Bleachers are horribl too.

I work in a school and graduations at least here are pretty casual. I see everything from some jeans and ts (there's always a few) to mostly capris/khakis casual skirts and sundresses. The only people I see all dolled up are the 80 year old grandmas who are just sooooo eeexxxcciiiteed in their matching pant suits! :)
