Q re: Food Processor

I used my food processor for the first time today, and shredded a bunch of cheddar and colby-jack cheese. For the most part, it went well, but there was definitely some cheese that gunked up between the work bowl lid and the grating blade. And digging that stuff out was a serious pain.

Any tips on what I can do to avoid this in the future? I'd pulled the cheese straight from the fridge, but should I have put it into the freezer for a bit to make it harder?

  • I have the same when I am shredding softer cheese. I have never tried freezing the cheese first because I thought the extra moisten when thawed would make it slimy.

  • I have the same experience, but I haven't found it hard to clean out. I use our scrubber; maybe that would help?  For example:
