Outdoor rugs

I want to get one for our deck, which is not covered. Do you leave them out rain or shine all summer long? They dont get moldy/mildewy?

I did not have a good experience with our outdoor rug.  I'm not one to go outside and move all the furniture and roll it up when it rains, and the composite deck underneath got discolored with mold or something.  The discoloration eventually faded away once we tossed the rug.  The rug got faded very fast in the sun, and because it was made of some sort of plastic fiber, which does not withstand sunlight well, got very brittle and full of holes.  Perhaps there are better ones out there, but ours was a cheapy from Overstock and I wouldn't recommend it.  Maybe there's some sort of natural material that would stand up better to the sunlight/weather and breathe more?

  • We got one cheap from overstock.com.  It was under $100.  We left it out rain or shine.  It never got gross, but it did weaken it.  I'd pull it up in the winter if I were you.  I think that is what did it in.  I loved it when we had it though!

p.s. glad to see you over here :)
