Any suggestions on where to find inexpensive decorative mirrors? I'm looking for something to go over our mantel, preferably with a metallic frame, but I don't have much budget. Already checked our local Home Goods.
Re: Inexpensive mirrors
Sometimes I get lucky at TJ Maxx/Marshall's. I bought the mirror for our powder room at Lowe's (about $50 for a 20x32 mirror).
Before you buy a mirror for your mantle, though, have you considered what will be reflected in it? I feel like a lot of people default to mirrors over fireplaces, but only occasionally do I see it done to really good effect. It's only really good if what is reflected in the mirror is pretty -- like a big window with a pretty view or something. It's the reflection, not the mirror itself, that makes it work. If you don't have that (which would make you part of the majority), a large framed print or canvas might be a better choice.

we are building at a house at the moment and instead of using contractor mirrors I've started buying the bathroom mirrors at HomeGoods....GREAT deals and they'll make such a difference

I put a mirror over the fp at our old house and realized that it reflected....a ceiling fan. Fail. I ended up hanging a wreath over it.
We've got a mirror there now and it works well, I'm just looking for something to replace it. Thanks, though.
