Didn't want to threadjack below, how did Poe do this weekend?

Re: ** setsail **

  • She did great! We were passing a green dog so our times weren't the best but she was running a few 4.8s. She was RARING to go. Usually she just barks when we wait but this time she would jump up and down when the start dog ran by and almost dragged me down on a few false starts because she was mad whenever she heard the whistle lol. She had no trouble passing which is awesome for her. She had one bobble and the ball rolled down the lane so she was kind of to the side of the 1st jump. She actually nabbed the ball, BACKED UP, and took all 4 jumps......and still ran a 6.0 lol. I was amazed. Our captain was running with us and she was like "omg...what a good girl...you sure know the rules!!". So proud of my spazzy baby. And for once she was on in the ring and not a total btch. Sometimes when she's on fire she gets super snarky to strange dogs but not one snarky incident all weekend. She also roomed with 2 new dogs for the 1st time. She knows them but has never stayed with them before and she had a blast with their young aussie girl. She was super sweet meeting my grandma for the 1st time and did a bunch of tricks for her lol. So a great weekend for the poe-dog. I think a break did her good and we had a load of fun.

Poe: Here we go once again with the "I was a wild stray..." story. Blah blah blah *eye roll*

  • Awesome! Congrats to both of you!

PS - Our team captain texted me yesterday - Patches will be height dog on a team of green (but up and running for the most part) starting in July. It's a bc, a bc/staffie mix, and an Aussie, so together they should be fast enough for him to keep them competitive. :)

  • Yay! So cool! Can't wait to hear how he does! Who knows, maybe we'll end up at the same tournament some time :)

  • Yeah I hope so! We're going to Foxboro, MA  in July which is probably far for you. I'm sure we'll end up in York at some point. I can't remember when we were there last year - summer I think, because we crated outside, but it wasn't super hot so I'm not sure when it was now. Maybe that was last April?

  • Maybe for the 'Nut in June? That is a huge tournament and I never get to go because it is always the same weekend as the disc dog regionals :( That would be cool if we show up at the same one! We'll keep in touch and maybe any in PA I'll try to swing if your team is coming down.

  • Argh, TN ate my first response.

But that's the one, thank you! I'm not sure if we're going to that this year or not. I'll definitely let you know the next time we're going to PA. Where else do you guys travel to?

  • We don't travel very far usually :( York, up around Philly, that's about it. We stay mainly close to MD. But if there is some overlap I can commit and maybe drag a few others with me lol. We did go to CanAm a few years ago and I would love to go back!

  • We go to MA a lot, and sometimes eastern PA so I'll definitely let you know when we're going back. I'd really love a close to home tournament, but that doesn't seem to ever happen.
