did anyone on here go to SDSU?

If so can you tell me a few things...

Is it a hard school to get into?

I am a business major but I have a few dings on my transcripts my first two semesters in college I did not take anything seriously and failed a few classes. Now I am on the right track and have been doing well ever since. My transcipt has an issue of warning on it from my community college saying that my GPA was once below a 2.0 .... Do you think this would seriously affect my chances of getting into SDSU?

Any help/advice would be appreciated thank you!!

Re: did anyone on here go to SDSU?

  • It is not known as a hard school to get into for an undergraduate degree. DH went for his MBA and just finished. We both attended UCSD for our undergrad, so I can't talk from personal experience. However, it is not known for being super exclusive or hard to get into.
  • I went there for graduate school... and while I was told it was not a hard school to get into (colleagues that were in the graduate program I was in told me essentially everyone gets into the program), I found they are getting a bit more competitive.  I had told a co-worker/friend the same thing (everyone gets into the program) and she DIDN'T get in.  Needless to say, I felt horrible.
  • I also went to SDSU for graduate school, so I'm not much help.  Honestly if you have now turned things around and are now getting better grades and have taken all the classes you need to transfer it can't hurt to apply.  GL!
  • I went to SDSU (it took me a little longer than the standard four years Wink) and initially when I transferred in it was not a problem.  I took some time off and when I re-applied to go back it was so impacted at the time that it was more difficult to get in and they did not take transfer students for Fall semester so I had to wait for Spring.

  • I went to SDSU, and know from being involved in freshman/transfer orientations that is really has gotten more difficult to get in to. Business is impacted, which makes it a harder major to get into, and there are about 10 pre-req classes you have to take before you can "declare" your major. I suggest going to campus, and meeting with a new-student adviser with a copy of your transcripts. They are a little more lienant with local CC transfer as their is an agreement between Comm.Colleges and the CSU system...
