Yes, Karen and I are friends. Andplusalso she is the executor...sucks for her. I thought it was our accountant.
Our house is owned with rights of survivorship, I think that means it passes to me automatically. And the life insurance was updated to me so that is okay. the rest of it will be interesting to untangle. I need to find their divorce decree.

This is going to sound trite, but at least your DH HAD a will. Mine did not. I hated the probate court thing, but it had to be done. Shortly after I was done with that tangle, I had my own will made up so my kids won't have to go through what I had to do.

You should be able to get a copy of their Final Decree from the court that granted the divorce. If you can't/don't want to find your copy, just call the court clerk's office.
