I went to an orthopedic surgeon today. He is one of the best in the area, so I felt comfortable with him.
He was doing the physical exam (moving my knee, feeling around) and asked me what my chief complaint was. I told him in 2009, I was playing intramural softball and I was running around first base and it felt like my knee went one way and my body the other. I then told him ever since then, I've felt a click and a pop, and most recently some slippage. He said he could feel that in my right knee but not my left knee. I told him I had an MRI done in 2009 and he wants the results. He also took X-rays and I could see a black void where there should have been all white.
So today he gave me a cortisone shot, which really sucks. I can't walk, I can't drive or move or else it hurts. I try to move it around like he told me to. He also told me to go back in two weeks. He wants to check the MRI report and also wants to discuss surgery. I don't know how I feel about the surgery part but I am of the opinion that if it makes me able to operate better, then I guess I'll have to do it.
I dunno. I'm defeated.

Yuck, sorry you are feeling so crummy and had to get a shot. I wish I could come take care of you and keep you off your feet. I'll be praying that you get some relief soon so you don't have to be laid up and hurting. Sorry girl.
**hugs**
Liz, the only problem is we don't have the kind of money to get a second opinion. It sucks. I need something to make it feel better and I'm more irked that my doctor 3 years ago didn't say ANYTHING about it except "Live with it"
