Airline Preference

Do you and H prefer a certain airline? Or do you choose your airfare based on price?

I personally prefer American and my entire family prefers United, because they know someone who works for the airline and usually upgrades their seats.

I'm planning a huge family trip to Vegas in September and everyone wants to fly United but they're almost $75 more per person roundtrip!

Re: Airline Preference

  • We usually fly USAirways, partly because our city is one of the hubs and partly because that's all S flies when he travels for work so we use his miles/points towards our airfare.

  • We usually just tend to go with whatever is cheapest, which ends up being either Southwest, Jetblue, or United.

American has been a horror story with our luggage once, and twice for my husband. 3 strikes and it's out for us. Unless we are going somewhere that we do not need to check out bags. (A somewhat story with one of them, they left our luggage on the tarmac for 8 hours, in Miami. We were in Jamacia.)

  • Usually Delta, American, or Alaska. We've had a few trips on Continental/United and don't have any complaints. I hate US Airways and would gladly pay more to avoid flying with them.

I wish we could fly Southwest!! I've only flown them once before and my trip was awesome! The only problem with them is they don't fly out of O'Hare, only Midway which is far away from us.

  • Anyone but Delta. We had two horrible experiences with them-- never again!

  • whatever is cheapest. I prefer Jetblue but only because I like having the TV

  • Whatever is cheapest.

I have no airline loyalty nor have I been screwed over badly enough to boycott any.   My flying experiences have apparently been average.

  • whatever the cheapest is where i am going. Usually it's been northwest. But I usually travel to the east coast.

  • I've only ever flown American and will never again in my life do that. We're flying on Southwest next month, so we'll see how that goes.

  • I book all of our trips and I just go with whichever is cheapest and fits our schedule best.  I have absolutely no preference.
  • Delta or Frontier...sorry Buttercup! I LOATHE American Airlines. Absolutely LOATHE them.

This exactly.  I will fly whatever is the cheapest nonstop but refuse to fly Delta.

  • If it  isn't a private jet you might as well be flying to Chimichanga on Guacamole Airlines with live chickens running down the aisle!

  • I haven't really flown enough recently to have a preference. I usually just book the cheapest flight, unless it's Spirit.  I steer clear of them.
