One woman's opinion on why wealthy should pay more
Taxes, obviously.
She thinks the wealthy don't use their money appropriately, and should be penalized for it.
Wherever you stand on this issue, this is an idiotic statement, right?

No, I'm just listening to the radio. They are debating whether or not the top 1% should pay more in taxes, and if they should, why that is.
This was just a random woman. She used athletes as an example.
Another man said if they made more charitible contributions, they shouldn't have to.
I'm not sure where these people came from. I'm also not sure why people feel they should get a say in how the rich use their earned income. If they squander it, who cares?

well some poor people spend their money foolishly just as well as some rich people do. Taxes really have nothing to do with that.
Like if such contributions were tax deductible?? What an idea!

After visiting countries like Denmark where their citizens happily pay a "high rate" for things like free college educations and free daycare services, I don't think badly of taxes if they are appropriately/fairly distributed and used for their intended purpose.
However, I have no faith in OUR current government to run as smoothly as countries like that, especially because things are not as transparent as they could be when it comes to tax appropriations here.
I will not betch about what I have to pay, though, because I know what other people in the world pay. We don't have it that bad, the rich OR the poor.
I don't complain about taxes either, I think people should pay taxes. I pay what we owe, because I have no choice, and also, I think this is the best country to live in, even with all of our faults. I'm willing to pay to live here.
