This past fall my fianc? and I build a wooden dining table ourselves. We weren't able to seal it before it got to cold outside to work on it. We didn't want to seal it indoors because of the strong odor/chemicals.
We were out of town last weekend and came home to find mouse droppings all over it! EWWW! I dusted off the mouse droppings and we haven't touched the table since. I have been searching all over the internet on how to clean an unsealed table without ruining it with no luck.
Please someone help!!! This is so gross, I just want to burn the table!
Anyone know how to clean without ruining unsealed wood? Please let me know as soon as possible! Thanks!!

The process in the link above should work fine. Unfinished wood is unfinished wood, doesn't matter if it's a floor or a table.
When the table is completely dry, take it outside and get a few coats of poly or shellac on that thing.

I've had some success with bleach and water solution on my unsealed microwave cabinet, but I don't know what kind of wood your table is, so I would say to use caution, and maybe use a tiny amount on the underside first and let it dry thoroughly to see how it reacts.
Is the stain shallow enough that you can just sand it out?
