I need cake filling ideas please!

Hi there. I'm from the baby month board Oct 2012, and I am planning on making cupcakes with pink or blue filling to tell our families which we are having. It is NOT a gender reveal party, it's just a dessert for after Father's Day dinner. 

What I need ideas for, is what kind of filling could I use for the blue or pink? I didn't really want to do frosting, as frosting is not amazingly good in a cupcake (to me, it's too sugary). I was thinking of a fruit jam filling, but I can't figure out any actual pink ones (strawberry and raspberry tend to kind of look more red).

Any ideas? Thank you!

Guava mousse?  I can find guava puree at a nearby hispanic grocer (along with other yummy tropical purees to make mousse or curds with).

Do you like cream cheese frosting which isn't necessarily sweet?  I was thinking you could use that as a base and blend in some strawberry or blueberry puree.

What about a vanilla filling with some raspberry or strawberry juice to make it pink? You can do the same for blue with blueberry juice.
