Oven cleaning

I need to clean the inside of my oven.  Any natural/green way to do this?  The idea of using chemicals in the oven does not sound like a good idea to me.  TIA

You can try a paste of baking soda and water.  Smear it on then let it sit overnight.  The next day you can take a scrub brush and/or scraper to it.  You'll have to rinse a good bit to get rid of all the residue.

    No it does not.

I just wanted to check, because there was a similar post a while back, and the nestie said, "Oh! Yeah, it does! Okay, I'll do that."

  • That's pretty much what I do. I mix 1 part baking soda and 1 part washing soda into a paste with water. I let it sit overnight then spray some vinegar over it and scrub. It only works if you do it regularly (aka no waiting a year + between cleanings like I used to...)
  • I was told if you use the self cleaning feature, you need to pull theoven away from the cabinets because it gets so hot. Do those of you who use it pull it out from the cabinets?
