How often do you have to dust your house? I feel like I dust almost every weekend but still see a fine layer on the TV and other shiny surfaces by the time I do it again. Do we need to use different furnace filters? Any other ideas? Or do I just have to accept dusting weekly?

Re: Dusty house
When was the last time you changed out your furnace filter? Have you had the duct work cleaned? Does it need cleaned? Do you have pets or kids? Do you open the windows often (some of the dust is probably pollen since everything is in bloom right now)?
I usually dust weekly, but bi-weekly would be fine. There is no carpet in our house, so that helps. We don't have any pets, but it was a lot dustier back when we had a cat (he was a Maine C00n, so lots of fur and dander). We try to change out the furnace filters every month, sometimes every other (if we forget).

We are pretty good about changing our filters, but I notice dust almost immediately after dusting. It drives me crazy! Unfortunately we have a lot of dark hardwood floors and furniture, and dark wood shows every speck of dust. I am constantly using the Dustbuster on the floors for the bigger bits of dirt, and find myself in a constant state of frustration about it. It doesn't help that I'm a compulsive cleaner.
In any event, much as I love the look of dark wood, I will never get it again.
