Cystitis/Prescription food, where to buy?
Any good tips for best places to buy vet reco'd cat food? My Reilly cat was just put on Royal Canin Urinary SO for FLUTD. But he and his sister are grazers, so I can't think of a way to switch him to it without them both eating it. And it is so expensive!
$37 for a 7lb bag at the vet's office, seems like it's even more than that online at most places. Anyone have an online vendor they get it from reasonably? We are using Taste of the Wild or Before Grain chicken now, and I can get both at Amazon or Wag.com reasonably, so I'm hoping I can find a deal somewhere for the new food?
Re: Cystitis/Prescription food, where to buy?
This doesn't answer your question, but when Lily had her first bout with uriniary issues, I found this site really interesting:
http://catinfo.org/
After reading it, I added wet food to her diet, increased water sources, and didn't use the prescription food. I'm not a vet and not advocating that for you, but it's a really interesting site to read, written by a vet.
Thanks! I'll definitely look at that!
