My dog is having issue with another dog
Hello,
Well my chehuahua and my friends lab are having issues. Lab is a baby couple of months and my Che is 4 years old, when we introduced them my Che started growling everytime he is around the lab. This only happens with this lab and we don't know what to do, please help!
Thanx
Re: My dog is having issue with another dog
Hi, Yesmy Che is so loving and friendly. He always is so ice to other dogs. We don't know what to do for him to stop growling at the lab. The problem is only with this dog and that he would sometimes even snap at the lab. My che is 6 lb;s and the lab is 50lb's.
Thanx
How were the two dogs introduced in the first place? It's possible the introduction didn't go well but that none of the humans even realized it. Were you in your home? Were they both on-leash or off-leash (or one on and one off)? Personally, I would reintroduce them on neutral territory and take them for a walk together right off the bat so they can be around each other in a non-confrontational way. You might just end the day there and at some later date, walk them together again until they are both behaving nicely and only then allow them to interact.
Dogs' body language can be really tricky to interpret if you don't know what you're looking for, so you might want to Google it and look at some photos so you can identify if your dog is getting stressed/scared/whatever or if the other dog is doing something to make your dog feel that way (trying to hump, corner your dog, etc.).
Also, "Chihuahua" is the correct spelling.
