What hair products do you use?

I am very much a wash, let dry and pull back kind of girl, but I've been thinking that I could look a little bit more "put together" if I actually took care of my hair and styled it. What do you do/use? How long does it all take?

Re: What hair products do you use?

  • This is going to depend what type of hair (curly? wavy? straight?), what style you want end up wit (curly? straight? etc), and how long your hair is for us to make recommendations....

For me- I am Asian, and I use a flat iron 2-3x/week. When I do, I use Tresemme heat protectant spray, flat iron (BabyLiss, which I love love love), and then spray at the end with Aveda Brilliant spray (a HG item for me). Since I wash my hair at night, it is nearly dry by the time I wake up, it takes me literally 5-8 minutes since my flat iron is fantastic.

I've heard fantastic things about Aveda's Style Prep Smoother and Glossing Straightener, both of which I am thinking of purchasing in the next month...

fwiw- I don't curl my hair (takes too long for me since I have hair past my shoulder blades and LOTS of hair), but I do love the look.

  • I use Pureology shampoo and conditioner, then towel dry hair and spray It's a Miracle 10 leave in conditioner all over my head, comb through, blow dry and then apply Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum just on the ends of hair. Now that I'm in my 30s, my hair has changed and am finding that better products = better hair! Took me a while to figure that out. Anyway, the Miracle 10 spray is my must have...it makes my hair smooth, shiny, and it acts as a heat protectant too. Sometimes I'll flat iron my hair. I use Solia flat iron which is amazing! When going out at night or on certain days I have a bit more time, I like to use hot rollers in my hair. It literally takes me 5 minutes to put them all in, and then let them cool while doing my make up and getting dressed. I finish each look with a light mist of Bumble and BUmble hairspray. The key is to use great products in your hair and ON your hair (flat iron and dryer)

  • I use Bed Head shampoo and conditioner. I shower at night, go to bed with it wet, then flat iron in the morning. I sometimes put Moroccan oil in it and need to get better about doing that
  • I am pretty easy/low key for my hair. I use bumble and bumble seaweed shampoo and conditioner, blow dry with a t3 dryer, and use bumble and bumble classic hairspray to finish. Love the hairspray, it holds well and keeps my hair from getting frizzed in humidity:)

Good question - I have very fine hair with a bit of a wave to it and is mid way down my back in length. I am really looking for is a hairstyle that's easy but looks finished
