Am I the only one that eats shrimp and grits?

I'm a New Yorker, and I know that people say shrimp and grits is a backwoods country dish- but I love it!!! I am pregnant, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I think it's delicious. Does anyone eat shrimp and grits or crab/salmon cakes with there grits? Even though I'm from the North, I grew up on it.

I live in Virginia now, and I showed some people in my office the shrimp and grits I made for breakfast and they were all mortified that I put the two together. lol

I live in Southern Maryland and work in DC now. So we're close.

ditto this.  If you think shrimp and grits are backwoods, you would be horrified by some other southern dishes, lol.

my favorite bar/restaurant here in Boston has Shrimp and grits on the menu for Sunday brunch and I LOVE it! YUMMMMM

SO does not eat seafood, so I don't make it...

I grew up in the south but never touched them. I finally had some a few years ago by one of the chef's of my mom's place and loved them. BUT, they were prepared in such a delicious manner.

I'm from Florida, which my husband says is not southern but I can cook up some good shrimp and grits for my SC born man! Also love cornmeal fried fish with cheese grits.

I LOVE shrimp and grits and I'm a Northeastern girl born, bred and still living up in NJ/PA. No Southern family whatsoever.
