Hi all. I was just wondering if any of you dog owners have recs for good, durable chew toys? My pit has managed to chew apart any toy we have given him. The only thing to survive in the past 2 years has been his Kong. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! TIA!
Re: Chew-proof toys?
Kongs are one of the few toys that stand the test of time in our house as well.
We've also had good luck with these toys:
The Hurley bone from West Paw http://www.westpawdesign.com/catalog/dogs/dog-toys/eco-friendly-dog-toys/eco-friendly-products/hurley
The Orbee world ball http://www.planetdog.com/orbee.aspx This one lasted for a couple of years before she started pulling the continents off of it.
She loves these rings http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3207026&lmdn=Dog+Toys
And there is no reason why she shouldn't have destroyed this by now, but for some reason, it has escaped her wrath http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751743&lmdn=Dog+Toys
2b, my lab destroyed those rings!
OP, I volunteer at a shelter that is 80% pitties and pittie mixes. The only toys they are allowed to have are Kong Extremes and GoughNuts.
Goughnuts are expensive, but they have a lifetime guarantee -- if your dog destroys it, they will replace it free of charge.
Damn! And here I thought they were super durable. She does spend more time running in circles whipping them around than chewing on them, so that probably explains why they've lasted in our house.
We haven't tried the Goughnuts...we'll have to give those a try next.
I'm pretty sure that the West Paw toys come with a guarantee as well.
