First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.
Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ?60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.
I had to write back and tell this person that this letter is disgusting, and damn black people, why aren't you thanking whites for aaalll they've done for you?

The poster came back to say that his wording wasn't as good as it should be, but hell the Jews, Chinese, and Native Americans had been plenty prosecuted and downtrodden, and you didn't hear them continuing to *** and moan did you? Then some other guy posted saying that attitude makes or breaks you, not skin color, and people should quit whining. I said omg I can't believe you're calling blacks whiners... and he says hah syke the black guy I work with was standing over my shoulder and told me to write that because that's how HE feels and wanted to see the reaction. O_O
I said well if one black guy thinks it then it must be true and all blacks should just STFU because we are all born with the same abilities and opportunities to get ahead. Thanks for showing me the light.

This is some BS I would have expected to read to justify slavery in the early 19th century. Civilizing Africans, because they were too stupid or backwards to accept Christ or that their lot in life involved hard work on behalf of whites, being lesser than them and all that. White man's burden, people.
