Puppies and renovation

We have renovation starting on our home for the next month.  Our bathroom is being gutted and replaced and we have work being done in our kitchen (in the middle of the house)

We have 2 7 month old shih-tzus.  I intend on leaving them in their crates while I am at work starting next week ,but am wondering if there is anything I should do to make it better for them.  I have them as far away from the bathrom work as I can, but every room connects to the kitchen so there isn't much I can do there.

Not sure there is anything I can do, but thought I'd check if I was missing anything

Re: Puppies and renovation

  • Do you think it will make them really anxious?  If so, I might look into doing doggy daycare or having them stay at a friend or family members during the day.  If you think it won't bother them so much, I'd just leave them with stuffed kongs or other interactive toys and maybe turn on a radio or TV to minimize the construction noise.
