NDR: Reply-All needs banished.

Someone, somewhere, sent a company wide email (to 19 different states). Asking for donations to their Relay for Life wherever the eff they live.

I kid you not, I have gotten 11 reply-all emails.

One or two were like "I'm going do donate here in BFE because my Aunt Sally beat cancer!" or "I'm stage 4 with Breast Cancer, so we're walking this year." Heartbreaking.

The other 8 were varieties of (and I quote the last one):

"QUIT REPLYING TO ALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

YOU ARE JUST MAKING IT WORSE JERKS.

I just got two more. OMG THIS IS GOING TO MAKE ME CRAZY.

Two more. I'm not sure I want to check my email Monday.

Oh man, those are the worst!

My MIL does not get the group text feature on the iphone and when someone sends a group text for a holiday or birthday, she then proceeds to have a one on one conversation and everyone else gets all the texts.  Yesterday I had 13 texts from her and a cousin going back and forth about Ted Nugent.  I was so annoyed!!

I'm at 36 reply all emails.

Last one's subject was changed to "Da Bears" and the body just has "I Like Turtles" typed into it.

YOU might think this is funny, PRESTON, but this is stalling my dinosaur of a computer.

Yes, a serious matter of abusing the reply all feature.

THIS made me laugh....not at you...but with you. All you can do now is laugh at the idiots.

Haha.  One of our customers at work always gets on me for NOT using Reply All on orders.  I just can't bring myself to use it.  I feel like it's bad luck to use reply all.

Thank goodness it died down with Beverly "this is supposed to be serious" Killjoy (I was at least entertained by some of the responses) so I don't have to quit vs. clean out my inbox on Monday.

However, I saved a few of the hilarious ones in my "for reference" folder.

I don't know how he did it, but when there was that earthquake in Haiti some dude at my hospital sent out an email to all 5000+ hospital employees that was like, "Many of you have asked how I'm doing...this has been very sad for me," etc.  Then there were like 250 "reply alls," of which 200+ were people telling people not to "reply all."  And then a very abject apology from the dude for a misuse of the hospital email system, etc., saying he had been reprimanded, which of course he sent to all 5000+ employees again.  It was ridiculous.

I have someone at work who Reply-All everyone all the time.  I really laughed the other day when we were both on the same mailing list from someone from outside the company and she Replied to all 100 or so member companies with "Thanks.  This looks good".  All I could think was the other 99 or so receipients are sayign "Who the eff is Elizabeth and I'm glad she doesn't work for my company!"
