Moms: Have you experienced this?
This afternoon, on of Austin's cheeks slowly became really flushed and was very warm to the touch. We happened to be over my bother's and my SIL thought it might be an ear infection - but he has no fever...but was rubbing/tugging the ear on the side his cheek was red...it went away after about 20 minutes...I was thinking it could possibly be teething??? (we are waiting for his top two teeth to come in now) Just wondering if anyone else experienced this...
Re: Moms: Have you experienced this?
Marny - good to know...I will keep my eye on it then...he doesn't pull on his ear all the time, just sometimes when nursing...and he's not cranky at all...
Maura - I had thought that as well, especially since he was rolling around on my brother's carpet and they have a dog and Austin has pretty sensitive skin...
Sarah - thanks
Thank you ladies! I know if it is something major it will just get worse and all I can do is really watch him...I'm hoping to take him for his flu shot soon, so I can always talk to the pedi then...
You do NOT need to have a fever to have an ear infection. I didn't find that out until this past week when Alex got his first one and I dismissed it b/c he didn't have a fever.
<-- mom of the year
Thanks Heather...I did just call and speak to a nurse at the pedi's office, because the red cheek is back after giving him green beans again this morning...she didn't seem overly concerned an said just to watch him...he only tugged at his ear once when I was feeding him at night and she said it could just be a comfort thing - but he hasn't been cranky or anything, so she wasn't concerned...just the cheek is flush and warm to the touch....but he has been gnawing on his teether all morning....
