Sorry my girl being quoted in an article finally freaked me out to make me abandon my old name. I am the artist formerly known as Mere. I chose this screenname because the part of the movie with the kids screaming this phrase made me LOL.
Re: New Screenname!!
Well, that's not very nice of you. I'm terrible at guessing games.

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DMake that me three with a new screen name.
Pimp'n Ain't Easy.
Not gonna make it hard for you. The city where this movie is filmed is all you need.

I sent you a FB message!!! I am the most militant person on this board, does that give it away?
Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
I'm just going to go ahead and ditto this....
You know how we do
That should tell you I am!
Oh I know who you are and I didn't even need a gif to figure it out.
But for realsies, I don't think a line in your siggie is going to send people to your door. LOL You paranoid peeps need to do something.
Click me, click me!
Ha! I'm Hustle&Flow.
I may go back and forth between the two. I don't know. HAB's infamy was like ... hmmmm .... might need to get a new handle. Or at least remove my ticker. It depends on how paranoid I am to forever change screen names.
What say you PCE?
Yes. I already have a lot less time on this board now. I don't want to spend my time trying to figure this out.
I say take your bio out of your siggy and leave personal information out of posts and you're good.
*rides the oblivious train....*
Done. I'll be honest, it took me a long time to get to gold and starting over isn't as fun. LOL
Look, the reality is your shiit was already out there anyway. I guess the real concern is that someone you know could come across you here and then search your username and read everything you've ever said.
But the reality is even without stupid MSNBC, people could aready do that. The fact that they among others are trolling the interwebs looking for shiit people are saying to use otherwise doesn't mean you are now known or any more likely to be found than before. It's just highlighting that it was already possible.
So I guess if you are worried that someone you know might find something you once said about them, then you should remove stuff from your existing siggie/profile that easily identifies you. From here on out, make sure you DD personal shiit that would blow up in your face if anyone every found it.
Personally, I ain't doing shiit. I stand by everything I've said or at least I'm willing to be all, yup, I had a shitty day, I admit I was feeling particularly fiesty. Whatever.
If you do feel like changing your name, you should still put who you are in your siggie because a random isn't going to recognize your username unless it actually is more than just your first name. Also, if you put only part of your username or your nest nickname, it's not like they'd be able to use it to find your posts or at least wouldn't be able to weed them out. You should probably go back into your original name and remove your pictures or other identifying things lest someone comes across your old posts.
And those are my thoughts.

Soo, what you really trying to say is Eff the Internet Police?

The HAB thing was a little jarring, but I usually think freak-outs over "internet safety" are way overblown. By all means, do whatever you're comfortable with, but I don't even know the first names of most of y'all, unless its in your SN. And I've been posting here for over a year, I think. I've never been involved in any online community that was so sensitive about personal information as TN, etc.
I'm also fairly convinced you could show up at my door given all the information about me I've shared. But I'm really not that concerned. I'm way more concerned about actual threats to my safety... though I guess someone from the internet stalking me all the way to my city would be threatening. I'll take my chances, though.

Since I knowingly blew what little internet annonimity I had last week, Imma keep my gold status.
I never remember who took what position in any given post anyway. Except the obvious ones, like +aw+, 2V, and Reeve.
I dunno. I don't think he was anyone before. I don't think you've taken my meaning. What I'm saying is I don't remember most people's positions on a day to day basis. I know caden is conservative b/c she called me a Marxist. I know the 3 I named before, either because they've been outspoken on a particular issue or because they hold positions that contradict expectation. I know HAB because, well....she's HAB.
I don't make an effort to remember most people's personal lives because I feel like that's kinda creepy. If something personal comes up repeatedly I'll remember it, but in general I don't keep track of who has kids, who doesn't, who had issues with DH, and so on. We all say things that are personal in a given moment when we're looking for support or advice. I know I have. I'm not keeping a spreadsheet on ya'll.
