Was talking with some folks about dogs and noted that my dog isn't great around many dogs. He's little but gets aggressive around bigger dogs. So guy in the conversation says something about, "that's the thing with those dogs from the pound, you never know what you're getting, that's why I got purebred dogs."
For some reason that ticked me off, possible because his tone suggested my pound puppy wasn't quite up to snuff because he isn't purebred.

Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
That guy is dumb as sh!t. I grew up with purebred dachshunds, and 2 of them were always aggressive around big dogs. It's called little dog syndrome, and it has nothing to do with where you come from.
If you see that guy again, kick him in the balls for me, and at least 1 more time for the puppy mill he's keeping in business.

If the opportunity arises, remind him you can get purebreds from the shelter. My cat is purebred, one just won't get papers at adoption. Plenty of douchecanoe owners buy animals like they're status accessories and abandon them when they get bored. Or that breed/size/color becomes passe. But by all means, continue to perpetuate that cycle, jerkwad.
