It's the little things :)
We usually have 2 nights a year, one in June and one in October, that you can go outside in shirt sleeves (it's usually 40-45* and windy the minute the sun goes down). But we put all the screens on today and I'm sitting here with the windows wide open listening to crickets and drinking a huge glass of wine, and it's so pleasant.
This makes me miss the south so much!
To make it D&R, yea for DH and me building all the screens last fall; no way would DH let me have the windows open otherwise, even though we don't have bugs here
Re: It's the little things :)
I know...it's so nice tonight!! That's one of the things about the Bay Area I don't like; sometimes it would be nice to sit outside in the evening without freezing. Nights like these are definitely appreciated.
Yup! I hope the fact that we're having one of these in April doesn't mean we're in for an actual summer though. The lack of air conditioning and my current lack of whole house fan would make that sort of miserable.
You're in the Bay area? It was like traffic armageddon today!! I was telecommuting, but I had the local news on early this morning. Holy ***! The bridges were nuts and WTF to that crazy manhunt on I-80 up near Sacto?
Yeah it was completely nuts. I commute to Palo Alto, so I was on the San Mateo bridge for about 2hrs and 40minutes.
I guess that's what we get for committing to a commute involving of the bridges. I used to commute to grad school up in Davis - I would have gone crazy in that I-80 mess.
Sal Castaneda was getting really grumpy on the news this morning. "WHY the fvvck are people still trying to get on the San Mateo bridge?? Are you all nuts??" Something like that. It was kind of funny. But I'm sorry you were stuck in that
I'm a BART girl myself; if I had to drive on a bridge, I'd be a crazy person.
