Katie, I am so sorry. I know how much you love your dogs. We put down our GSD after 14.5 years of an amazing life earlier this week, so I know heartbreaking losing a beloved pet can be. Many hugs for you.

Thank you ladies.  It is so hard.  I spent pretty much the entire day yesterday crying.  Today is a little better as far as crying goes.  But, I am feeling a lot of anger today.  The last year has been incredibly difficult for me and our family.  Yesterday was just another kick in the stomach from the universe.  It just isn't fair and I miss her so much.

Oh that is feeling is sssssso normal!!! Sad feelings and even anger feelings are except-able. Crying is always a good therapy just be carefull not to let in any depression!!! Depression is dangerous! Keep strong and were all with you!!!

Oh Lord - I cried when my eyes fell upon this post even before I opened it.

So sad for the loss of your sweet debbie girl, esp after the rough year you guys have had.  I understand completely how you feel - grief is grief, no matter who it's for.   I will give my Indy extra hugs when I get home from work today - and we will ask our Buster boy in dog heaven to play NICELY with Debbie and show her all the fun stuff she will get to do.  She is healed and well.  Our hearts will never heal....sending you my love and prayers, Katie.

I mostly lurk but have been following your story and cried when I read your post.  I am so sorry for your loss.  We also have a pup with cancer and I try to remember that, when it's time to let her go, we will know that we had done everything possible to give her the best life we could.  I'm sure you already know that Debbie lived an amazing life with you and that your love made her whole world.  Hugs to you in this difficult time.
