I really think I missed my calling as a home declutterer/organizer because it feels so insanely good to get rid of stuff! We're moving at the end of May but I wanted to get a jump on it now while I had a free weekend. The house we're moving into is about the same size but a different configuration (and with a garage) so I wanted to get rid of some stuff so we didn't have to worry about it.
I started cleaning out the basement last night and filled 3 big packing boxes full of garbage! Geez. Old paint, dried up caulk, plumbing supplies that we wont need. It's amazing what you accumulate and save during house projects and then the leftover pieces just sit and collect dust.
I filled another box with stuff to give to my mom and sister that we wont be needing anymore (patio umbrella, gardening supplies, etc.)
DH found a chair and a sleeping bag in the attic so I took those to the donation bin. We're going to need to schedule a furniture pickup in a few weeks as well for some more larger items.
I also listed a chair on CL last night and someone is coming to get it on Monday.
I think i'm going to go a little overboard with this whole thing because everything I look at, I just want to get rid of it! lol

we donate throughout the year (clothes, shoes, stuff we no longer use) and it's CRAZY how much money we got back on our tax return- so even financially it makes sense to clear and clean up! (Plus it makes you feel so accomplished when you see a clean space!)
