NDR: SO's bday

What do you do for SO's bday?

Birthdays haven't always been huge for me and I try to make them special for DH but feel like I fail.  Are there little things you do leading up to their big day or on the birthday?  I had planned to have friends over this eve to help celebrate but we postponed it due to scheduling/weather/etc.

Any new or other ideas would be great.

Birthdays are huge for me but not so much for my husband. I do breakfast for him in the morning and then we either go out to dinner with friends or I throw him a party in the evening. I am probably not much help. 

I think I would maybe make his favorite dinner or go out for dinner and a movie. Or maybe just ask him what would make him feel special on his birthday.

We've never made a huge deal of birthdays.  A smallish gift and dinner is all we do.  It's another year.  *shrug* 

Does your H golf?  Maybe surprise him with a golf day with his friends.

I don't like making a big deal of my own birthday. Dh likes to have lobster on his.

We usually do something special for birthdays in our house.  I usually either cook for DH something he wants me to make, or we go out to eat to a place of his choice.  Then, it's usually whatever he wants to do.  In the past, he's asked me to try golfing with him (which was an epic fail, but it was his birthday so I tried it); he got a kick out of it.
