Selecting flooring and backsplash (pip)

DH and I spent the morning selecting tile, carpet and a backsplash for our new build. We had been undecided on the color of the granite to use. We had it narrowed down to either tan brown or sapphire blue. Both had some of the same colors but I worried that tan brown would be just a little too dark. So we went with the sapphire blue instead. Our builders wife said she had never used it before in a home since they normally build spec homes and she was excited to see how it looked.

I'm very happy with our selections and I think its going to look great together.

Any thoughts on paint colors ladies? I think it might be nice to do a blue in the kitchen.

Re: Selecting flooring and backsplash (pip)

  • How exciting!  That would be so fun to get to pick out everything to your taste.

I would say that a blue would look great, maybe a grayish-blue.  Since your backsplash is mostly brown, I'd pull in some of the blue tones from the granite onto the walls.

  • I LOVE the flecks of blue in the granite.  I would also pull some of that blue out when it comes time to paint the walls since you're doing brown on the floor and backsplash.
