if so what kind of paint would you use?
I have 2 pictures from when I studied abroad that my mom had framed for me about 15 yrs ago. One was framed in brass (more in style at the time & the picture is in color) and the other in a grey metal (it is a black & white photo). I would like to hang them together in my house but definitely don't want the brass anymore. They are both custom framed in odd sizes (12x13.5 and 14x16) so I don't think I can buy off the shelf, since they're matted already and I don't really want to spend a ton on re-framing & matting them.
So I had 2 thoughts:
1. paint both black somehow
2. paint the brass one grey or black to at least go better w/ the other one.
3. get the brass one reframed in something that works better w/ the grey one (would rather not)
Re: can you paint a metal frame black? looking for ideas...
you can spray paint anything, especially if you prime it first (which also is available as a spray paint). that is how i would paint them.
