Divergent - whomever recommended it

Thanks - nice read for a Sunday. Was going to go get the second one and then I saw it doesn't come out until May 1st. Boo! Sad Had to pre-order from Amazon instead.

ETA: I'm highly recommending it, especially if you're a fan of Hunger Games. An easy, breezy read.

  • I love this book so much!  I can't wait until the 2nd book comes out, and this has reminded me I need to do a re-read.

  • If you're looking for a quick read in a similar vein, check out Delirium and Pandemonium. There's a 3rd coming out at some point as well. Still in the YA distopian theme, but they are quick and entertaining.

  • I loved Divergent! One of my students recommended it to me because he knew how much I enjoyed Hunger Games. I can't wait for the 2nd book to come out now. :)

  • This could be a cool movie. If they've turned Twilight and Hunger Games into a movie, they can turn this into a movie.

http://thedivergenttrilogy.com/ not much going on here.

Not excited Summit is the one that picked up the rights but with Twillight ending this year, makes sense. I am excited about Evan Daugherty writing the script. From all the previews, Snow White and Huntsman looks pretty decent. Of course after June 1st we'll be able to really judge.

  • I can't wait for Insurgent! Did you know Veronica Roth wrote Divergent as an undergraduate at Northwestern? She was a creative writing major. She's like 23 or 24 now.

I think I like Divergent better than Hunger Games.

I did read up on her. She sounds pretty impressive and now that I'm all in the know - I get your signature and so now I can say with a sarcastic twist - you like Divergent? Really?

    :-P Surprising, I know.

It's a hard choice between Erudite and Amity for me, actually. I like parts of both of them. Maybe I am Divergent? Same with Harry Potter - I'd consider myself a Raven-puff.

  • I should read it somewhere by the end of the year.  I'm 74th on the waitlist at the library for the kindle version.  I'm not even sure how long for the paper version.
