Sort of CR: please recommend your point and shoot camera
I have an Olympus I am not happy with. I have had a Cannon in the past and loved it, but wondering what else is out there.
I am fine with paying a bit more for one that takes great pics and good video.
Thanks!
Re: Sort of CR: please recommend your point and shoot camera
We just bought a Nikon Coolpix AW100. It's made for durability, so it's waterproof (a must for when we go on vacation), drop proof (a must for anyone with children), has a GPS feature and takes 1080p video.
We took it on vacation to the beach and Disney and were really pleased with the quality of the images.
I think it was around $300 on Amazon.

I have an Olympus tough 8000 and I really like it, and I've always really liked any Olympus camera I've purchased. I like that mine takes good photos and videos and is water proof to 15 feet, takes really great underwater shots, and is shockproof.
It takes horrible night scene photos though.
This is the one we have and we LOVE it!

It takes super clear photos, has decent zoom and is waterproof. I didn't anticipate needing the waterproofing, but my son is in swim lessons right now and we can actually take the camera in the pool with us which is awesome!
We lucked in to a great Black Friday deal on it.

I replaced my last Olympus with a Nikon and I've been unhappy ever since. I miss my Olympus so much!
