i'm exhausted. this is how i feel every sunday evening lately. we have been doing SO much yardwork that I can't believe it's not even may yet. I think we have gone through more topsoil then I care to admit (i REALLY wish I had understood how much grading out yard needed before we bought it...i would have offered about 10K less!). we bought a really nice tree yesterday (a wolf eye dogwood...neat verigated leaves! omg i can't believe i even said that sentence...i HATE landscaping!) and some bushes. all still need planted.
H is currently passed out on the couch. he has been AWESOME as a workhorse in the yard. and, he's shedding a few lbs in the process! bonus! i, on the other hand, am putting on lbs and i think i'm getting to the point of "ummm...not longer needing to gain weight bc i was too thin...just getting fat now". need to keep that incheck. i'm hoping the new yoga classes will help out. i really need to gain back some muscle that I lost when i dropped weight super quick in the fall.
i also managed to host a small brunch this morning and not let my child drive my insane (omg stop repeating the same sentence over and over and over again!). successful 2 days, IMO.
how was yours?
Re: did the weekend live up to expectations?
Wow.. Sounds like an exhausting weekend, Bucks. It will be so worth it in the end though. I honestly hate yard work too. I am thankful my husband has always done all that work and never gives me a hard time about skipping out.
Our weekend was uneventful, as planned, which was great. We even went to Ikea to look at buying some closets. This really releived a lot of H's anxiety towards having another little person living here with us. Our apartment is a fair size but we don't have closets. We found exactly what we were looking for and should have done this when we first moved in. But, better late than never, right!?
My first doc appt is tomorrow. I'm psyched. I'll be getting an ultrasound, as far as I know! EEEKKK!! I just want tomorrow to be here already.
Yardwork is the worst! Since we're renting this house we've done absolutely nothing other than pull the weeds/rake the leaves/mow the grass. Their "landscaping" could use a lot of help, but we so do not want to do it!
We ended up grilling out at a friend's on Saturday night (well the guys grilled and brought it in b/c it was freaking cold). That was unexpected and fun.
I did manage to return my dress to the mall on Sunday without buying any clothes. I did make a big purchase for me though....a 34B BRA!! It's like my first ever adult bra!! I knew my boobs were getting bigger, but I didn't know they'd gone up a cup. I love it!
I don't know that I'd say my weekend didn't live UP to my expectations. Just more that things weren't what I expected.
Saturday went well. Helped my mom with preparations. Then we left K with my mom and step-dad to go to a bonfire at my sister's. That was fun and drank for the first time since New Year's. I did tell my cousin about the m/c, I had mentioned it in passing in front of her earlier, so I felt it only fair to explain.
Sunday was the shower. Preparing for the shower was much more physically demanding than I expected. By the time the shower was over with my knee and ankle was killing me and I could feel the injection site for where I got my epidural.
No one said anything about having #2. I was just so busy that I really didn't have any time to sit and talk to family. I'm not disappointed by that. I am very happy that the shower is over. It was way more work than I expected and hope I won't be planning another shower for a long time.
My Profile
This weekend went better than I thought it would. We didn't do anything on Friday night. Saturday we went to dinner then got rush tickets for a play.
Sunday we went to a place called Let's Dish. Its a place you can go and make meals to stick in your freezer. We made 8 meals of food in less than 2 hours. It was awesome. Then we deep cleaned. Our house has never been cleaner.
I had dinner with 2 old coworkers I haven't seen for months. My parents are coming tomorrow. So so excited for this week.
