Storing buttercream frosted cake
I'm delivering a cake tomorrow afternoon to someone who isn't going to serve it until late afternoon on Tuesday. The frosting doesn't have butter in it, or anything perishable so I'm wondering what's the best way to tell her to store it? I would probably keep it in a cake carrier on my counter but is that really the best way? My concern is that it's going to dry out before she serves it. It's a dairy, gluten, egg, nut free cake and I've never tried this before so I'm not sure what to expect.
Thanks!
Re: Storing buttercream frosted cake
It should be okay if it is frosted on all sides. If it isn't, I might be paranoid and wrap the carrier in saran wrap just to be sure it is super air tight.
Would you be willing to share your recipe?
It's just the basic buttercream recipe from Wilton. Crisco, vanilla, water, powdered sugar. You can find it on their website. Or were you looking for the cake recipe? It's just a mix, Pamela's with EnerG egg replacer.
Thanks for the advice:)
