to pop or not POLL

Sorry if this is gross but I just wanted to know

So you read all the time do not pop your zit. I have one every so often and I pop them. I have a co-worker who has a HUGE!!!!! (the zit smiled at  me today) HUGE!!!!!!! zit. We talked about what we do and she said no matter how big and nasty she will not touch it..

I have to pop mine. If I can pop it and make it smaller I totally do. I usually use a spot treatment on it right after

I'd draw it out with alternate hot and cold compresses so that it takes care of itself.

I used to be in the pop it camp, but in the last few years my skin is so sensitive to damage that I will get a dark spot even from just the stress on my skin of popping a zit.

So I just leave everything alone now. I'd rather deal with a few days of a pimple (and honestly, most of mine are only noticeable to me) than years of a dark spot.

 I'm awful with popping mine. My derm told me to stop picking because it was making my acne worse, but I've noticed in the last year or so that I get dark spots pretty bad so I'm trying my hardest to leave my pimples alone as hard as it is.

It really depends on what type it is and whatnot. There are some I know will only look worse if popped.

If it gets a white head then yes, if it's red and big no - these I just put a spot treatment on and hope and pray it will vanish.

I pop any that are really big with 2 q-tips.  My dermatologist said I should first wipe the area with alcohol and then to stop squeezing with the q-tips if there is any blood because then you run a higher risky of scarring.  I then apply a spot treatment cream.

I clean it up if there is a white head, I use a lancet to release the pressure and then use two q-tips to push it out.  My derm has said just pushing on it could result in further damage so I use a lancet to open it enough to release the pressure.  I have less scarring and quicker healing with this method.

If it is just big and red, I leave it alone since it is likely too deep and nothing good will come from pushing on it.

I pop the darn things...even when I know I shouldn't.

I only pop if there's a head.  To me, a zit is an infection and you dont leave an infection alone.  You get it out and then treat the area.

The big under skin cyst zits are a little more tricky for me.  I usually get them smack dabin the middle of my cheeks.  If I can see the pore that it's in (I have one of those 10x mirrors) I stick a needle in it, I know that's really bad, and that usually helps bring it up to a head and I can pop it.
