Pinterest..When I grow up

I want to have over 17000+ pins...

I was looking through followers or people I follow and I found some that have over 17000 pins.... WHAT ARE THEY PINNING??????? I have to find out...

I've thought the same thing.  I've been trying to pin more "original" things from blogs vs repinning a ton.

Although the spam is starting to get super annoying.

Anyone else feel like Pinterest won't be around super-long? I loved it at first, but now it's kinda boring. My friends have said the same thing.  Plus, all of these new things come out in the news about how we are responsible if someone sues for something we pinned.

I agree, it is getting a little boring, and the spam is SUPER annoying.  They need to find a way to control the spam and let people create private boards or block followers.  I don't want everyone that follows me to see my pins for nurseries, etc. when I'm not PG yet.  I tried sending myself an invite to an alternate email for things I don't want people to see and that was a week ago and I still haven't received the invite.

I wondered that myself. It really blew up at first but I just don't know how long it will last. I hope it just doesn't go away though because I have some good stuff pinned and I would hate to lose it all. 

I've also been trying to pin original things vs doing all the re-pinning.

I feel weird because I wanted to add another board for "if we were to build a house" stuff (like tile, paint colors, etc) but I had 35 boards. I am a leetle OCD about organization so I had to like force myself to combine some boards to not have so many.

I'll cry if it goes down and I lose all of it lol. Of course, I don't have 17,000 pins lol.

To get some perspective on 17,000 pins I had to check to see how many I had . . I have a sad 316 pins!

Who would want that many pins? I'm stressed out about the pins i already have. (probably around 400ish)

I am very practical about my Pinterest board. I want it to be a tool to help me get me more organized. I won't Pin anything unless I really think I'll use it. And once I use it/do it/make it, I take great delight at deleting said Pin. It's the same joy I get crossing an item off my never-ending  To-Do list.

 I don't have any issues with Pinterest spam and I really like using it to visually organize all of my ideas. I hope it doesn't go anywhere soon.

This exactly. I found myself on there every night at first but now I hardly go on... It was good for when we first purchased our new house and needed to fix it up (now we're out of money). I just collected ideas and kept them there. I also used to it gather ideas for baby's room and 1st bday party. But now it's all kind of over and done with. meh

I started deleting pins for this very reason. No, I know that rainbows of fabric folded in a drawer make me happy, but I don't NEED it pinned. I know I'll remember that when my OCD self gets actual storage for fabric lol.

I love Pinterest and I am not sure it's going anywhere anytime soon - especially if they can get the spam under control and let people control who follows.And I guess if they can figure out how to make a profit.

 

To me it's kind of like a never ending magazine curated by all my friends. Most of it is just eye candy  and I'll never do many of the things I've pinned, but who cares?

 

I'm super bored with Facebook, it's so annoying. Pinterest, on the other hand, has lots of advantages.  I love the impersonal nature - it's so freeing. And I love being able to follow some boards my friends keep while unfollowing boards I am not interested in. I have so many friends I've met online over the years - following boards that speak to our common interest is great. But a lot of them have whole other aspects of their lives that I'm not interested in and many that actually annoy me. I love being able to filter like that.
