Baseboard heating covers...
Does anyone know where I can find nice baseboard heating covers for the kitchen? I've searched the web and coming up with a blank slate. I only need 2 cover 2 6 feet baseboards in my kitchen. My whole kitchen is being redone and want to avoid the ugly metal ones that were there.
Re: Baseboard heating covers...
Are they necessary for heat? If not, why not remove them?
I've never seen a cover but if you have contractors in doing a lot of work, I doubt it would be hard for them to build a cover much like people do with radiators.

Can you spray paint the existing ones? We did that for all of ours. They were in fine shape, just ugly. After they were painted they looked great.
Could he do something like this for you? Since the baseboard heating is needed this would cover it but still make it useful.

Can you make one or have someone do it for you? Depending on what material you are using, perhaps you can get some extra and make covers to match. We used extra floor marble in one of our bathrooms (sorry the pics aren't too good) and my Dad built these:
Oooh I actually like that!!
My one "absolutely not" on our house hunting list was basebaord heat. I grew up with it and hate the look. So clearly we bought a house with baseboard heat, LOL. Those covers may save my sanity!
