I have worked with a personal training gym and a CrossFit box in the past year, and both have different ideas about food. The gym was more about clean eating, and whole-grain carbs in moderation were okay. They were big fans of eggs, but recommended having just the whites if we were eating a lot of them. CF, which advises a paleo diet, just put up a post suggesting that, if you're having two eggs, toss out the whites of one and ONLY eat the yolk.
I think I'm sticking with my whole eggs, which I eat about every other day, but what are your thoughts?

That sounds pretty strange. I've head of tossing the yolk but not the white. I think if you're going to eat the yolk, you might as well eat the white too because there's not much to it.
Here's a fun fact: Eggs are an excellent breakfast because they contain choline which has been proven to block fat absorption.
I'm not sure why fat-blocking = excellent breakfast, but choline does not "block" fat as in preventing absorption. One of its roles is to facilitate fat and cholesterol transport in/out of the liver.
Here's a good overview with food sources (liver and yolks are highest), daily requirements and other reasons why choline is an essential nutrient:

I eat at least this every single day. If I couldn't eat eggs, I would probably starve. The whole "egg whites only" concept is completely lost on me.
Well you learn something every day.
Word for word, that's the tip I received in an email newsletter yesterday. lol Go figure.
