Cleaning kitchen cabinets - what to use?

I usually just wipe them down with a wet rag, but I want to make sure they're REALLY clean. They're that oak color, I don't honestly know if they're real wood fronts or not. Should I use a special cleaner (like Orange Glo) or would my Method work just fine?

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets - what to use?

  • I'm sure the method is fine. I'd try it and if it doesn't do the trick get something else.

I'm a fan of Murphy's Oil Soap personally. Love the smell and the shine!

  • I think I'll try some of that. I think someone told me it'd be good for my oak trim too! Hoepfully I can find it here. I feel like I live in more of the sticks than I really do sometimes lol. I had to SEARCH for the lemon stuff for my dishwasher and the Bar Keeper's Friend!

This is what I use on our kitchen cabinets when I wipe them all down.

You should be able too. Hell, even my local small town has nothing grocery store carries it.

My mom loves it and used it all the time when I  was little. I bought a bottle remincising about my childhood..I see why she loves it..that stuff works. My house never been cleaner.

It's fairly green too if that matters at all to you!

Bonus! I used to love going to Target because they actually had stuff I couldn't find at the grocery store and at Wal-Mart (which is always my last resort), but they remodeled and took half the store out for grocery and now there's a MUCH smaller selection. I had to order the Method dye-free and scent-free all-purpose cleaner online because they stopped carrying it and the others that they had were just way too overpowering.
